Confined Space Entry/Rescue

This course provides information about hazards of confined spaces, how to control these hazards, and what requirements apply when employees enter confined spaces. Participants will receive practical training and take part in the proper inspection and donning of PPE and rescue equipment. They will also participate in a confined space entry and rescue, utilizing specific PPE, a Trip-Pod / Winch, other equipment, and a manikin.

Topics Covered

  • Understand what qualifies as a confined space and the hazards associated with them.
  • Describe the difference between a confined space and a permit-required confined space.
  • Explain the purpose of an entry permit and describe the responsibilities of workers during permit-required confined space work.
  • Demonstrate and explain proper on-site safety and emergency-response procedures.
  • Understand, test, and identify atmospheric and physical hazards.
  • Understand job duties associated with a confined space entry (Entrant, Attendant, Supervisor, Rescuer).
  • Hands-on simulation of a confined space entry and rescue.
